High Plains Water District releases updated draft water rules

The High Plains Underground Water Conservation District No. 1's Board of Directors met on June 6th to discuss the draft District Management Plan and to approve publication of draft rules necessary to achieve the district's adopted "50/50" desired future conditions for the Ogallala Aquifer. The updated draft rules (link below) reflect changes made to address concerns received at the five public meetings in March as well as those received by mail.

The district also announced two public hearings on the proposal. Both meetings are scheduled for June 27th:

Hearing #1: 9am to 11am, Dimmitt Middle School Auditorium, 1505 Western Circle, Dimmitt, TX
Hearing #2: 3pm to 5pm, Levelland Middle School Auditorium, 1402 E. Ellis Street, Levelland, TX
